Oh!
What could we do if we all listened.
To the still, small, voice that
whispers above the noise of our
behavior? What if, for one day,
we all followed our best inclinations.
Said the kind thing. Performed acts
of mercy and unselfishness. You know,
waited calmly in line. Helped someone
on the side of the road. Listened to
what the members of our families
we're trying to say. Treated our customers
as if they were really, really important.
Didn't shoot, or rob, or steal, or blow
anything or anyone up. Would the
synergy of our combined goodness
evolve our world in one fell swoop
into utopia, or at least into a single
grand epiphany of wonder?
