Photon
Darkness rolls in on clouds.
The sun, hidden, but not forgotten,
sends its rays on and on anyway.
It burns, unrelenting, despite
the flimsy attempt of the
atmosphere to stop it. Trees
wait. For snow to melt. For
birds to sing. For the touch
of light which will coax them
back to life. And then, green
as Eire, the world will spin
with joy again.
