Tick
Only moments now,
Before Auld Lang Syne is sung,
And people dance the past away,
As New Year’s bells are rung.
All around the earth,
Hope on hearts, alights,
Joy replacing faceless fear,
Regrets forgotten in their flight.
Now comes resolution,
To be better than we are,
Knowing well our weakness,
Will soon our promise mar.
We cannot right our wrongs,
Or guess what course is best,
But must rely on God’s own truth,
For forgiveness and true rest.
