Today's word is "catharsis" ... "The purging of the emotions or relieving of emotional tensions, especially through certain kinds of art, as tragedy or music.

They say there's a time for everything,
That's under the sun up high,
For being kind or making war,
For giggles or for sighs.
Mean people seem to come out on top,
More than their fair share,
Perhaps some catharsis on their part,
Would cause them to show more care.
But, until that revelation bright,
Shines into their darkened hearts
We'll have to wait in patient hope,
For love to find its mark.
