Today's word is "saxicoline" ... sak-SIK-uh-lin ... Living or growing among rocks. (Dictionary.com)

Plant
There was a truth,
Dropped like a seed,
That would feed us in,
Our greatest need.

But when it fell,
The birds ate some,
And a portion died,
In the burning sun.

Some was caught,
On saxicoline ground,
Where there was no food,
When roots were wound.

Some was choked,
By aggressive weeds,
But there was a small,
Most fortunate seed.

That seed lay gently,
In good earth,
Where it swelled,
And gave new birth.

And the truth spread out,
And filled the land,
With fruit and food,
From God's good hand.

The signs I see here, all around,
make me think solutions won't be found,
until it's too late and all is lost.
Then I remember at what cost
     to God was cast,
in his great will to save at last,
all his children whom he loves
and hounds always from high above
'Til they see his holy ways and bow,
       low in reverent true sorrow.
