To conceive control of all things,
Even time and space.

We set the parameters.

Latitudes, longitudes and poles.

Mark and measure.
Add the bissextus.
Revere the weights and scales.

No wonder then,
We are surprised,
By the kiss of grace.

Peeking through the trees,

We yawn and slowly stretch,
Perhaps take time to pray.

Wipe the nighttime from our eyes,
Get ready for the next thing,
Whatever may surprise.

He looks down his long, long nose,
With supercilious glee,
He knows that the rest of them,
Like him will never be.

His education long and hard,
His wealth created later,
The crooked paths he walked upon,
(Some just for him made straighter.)

The rabble that he gazes on,
From this lofty tower,
Will never understand how fierce,
Is his awesome power.

But, sometimes in the dark of night,
His confidences falter,
And he wonders if he bows,
At a crumbling altar.

Hmmm
If we could discern the truth,
Of everything we see,
We would not need philosophies,
Like cosmology.

We would always be correct,
When speaking of the stars,
The universe and how it's made,
Why all is flung so far.

But we are bathed in mystery,
In us and around,
So we must propose some thoughts,
On all that we have found.

Yet, theories bend and break with time,
Leaving holes and questions,
Perhaps our senses can't reveal,
Ultimate intentions.

If you go to school,
And spend a lot of money,
To get a paper, cool,
No one will think you're funny.

But if you're autodidactily inclined,
And an expert at your life,
There are some who'll say you can't shine,
And that you'll face more strife.

Don't listen to the moans,
From those who have diplomas faded,
They may just be jealous,
Or mad, or just plain jaded!

Someday she will grow up,
Unlike the princess on the page,

Smiling at her younger age.

Hear what the people say?
Be brave enough to walk alone,
Yet show a clear, new way?

Who deserves an encomium,
For the deeds that they have done?
Who can last when times get tough,
Stand strong if they're the one?

These moments lead until the day,
When all of us will choose,
A leader who we'll follow,
Whether we win or lose.

Even when life's past.

At one who is your brother?

Fighting with eachother,
On this planet shrinking small,

That we're children of the fall.

Turn then with affection,

To the one who wronged you,
With peace, your soul-filled plea.

So, what then does it mean?

If every bird and mammal,

Why would we be any different,
Left untouched by this strange grace?

Into the catch-all wonders go,
Our earth the loom which holds them,

We only see the hem.

Inward, inward you may fly,

All in God's repertoire.

What can we do but stand and stare,
Amazed at all the glory,
Someday the truth will ravel bare,
Our part in this bright story.

A bank of memories to behold.

If we could rely on snowflakes,

Tornadic whirling spirals,

To tell us of the future,
The uptick or the crash,
This wondrous aeromancy,
Would bring us lots of cash!

But the wind that truly speaks,
Is brought by Spirit holy,
And lives in us, reflected,
From the Son most lowly.

When love draws near,
Filling the spaces,
Once owned by fear.
