Hoodwink

Today's word is "hoodwink" ... To trick or deceive.

Change
Long ago and far away
someone was hoodwinked.
Or, at least allowed themselves
to be influenced in a way
that changed our history
forever. We had no choice
in that mystery's arising.
But now are tasked with
the most unusual mission.
To press into the Spirit
of God until we change
into his likeness. So
that anyone who looks
on us will see his nature.
We will try and try. And
we will be helped along
if we listen carefully
for our instructions. It's
a minute by minute
proposition.
