Today's word is "pavonine" ... PAV-uh-nahyn .... of or like a peacock; resembling the feathers of a peacock, as in coloring. (dictionary.com)
Strut
Here she comes again,
Pavonine colors flying,
She swooshes flagrantly in,
With flattery and smiling.
What makes this great display,
A vain necessity,
Is but part of her play,
Which shows forth her constant need.
Perhaps inside this hurricane,
There is a quiet eye,
Where new-birthed thoughts are sane,
And for adulation do not cry.
