Preach
Out in the pew, there was a man,
Listening as the word was spoken,
Summing up each sermon's worth,
Deciding where t'was broken.
This ci-divant was oh so sure,
That he had been amazing,
Since in his memory of the past,
On him each soul was gazing.
Still and yet the years go by,
Somehow the church survives,
Despite, because of servants wiles,
The word remains alive.
