Today's word is "frisson" ... free-SOHN ... a sudden, passing sensation of excitement; a shudder of emotion; thrill. (dictionary.com)
Shift
Michigan is falling down,
Chilly air creeps all around,
Frissioned leafy splendor calls,
To those who wait, "Come one! Come all!"
Acorns litter every lawn,
Deer parade with growing fawns,
Toward Apple trees hung low to grass,
They eat; retreat down well-worn paths.
It's quiet in the afternoon,
Since children have gone back to school,
The last sunshine sinks soft and low,
As we tred winterward, toward snow.
