Today's word is "pettifogging" ... Insignificant; petty.
Throw
They stood with rocked hands,
ready to cleanse the world.
Their pettifogged minds filled
with the horrendous details of her sin.
They stood ready with their righteousness
on display. They had. All the facts.
And they squared with the law. And
the rightness of their stance glowed
in their faces. And shined from their eyes.
She was a blight upon them all. And she would pay.
The momentum of their God-blessed arms
only came to a halt. At the embarrassment. That they
were. Exactly. Like her.
