Idem

Today's word is "idem" ... The same as previously given or mentioned.

Do Be Do
Between the understanding and the doing
Of a thing, there may be a cavern wide,
Where great quantities of knowledge,
Lead you unhappily to pride.

Though you know the difference between ibid
And idem, or can add a giant sum,
If you can't write, or checkbook balance,
You may just come undone.

In matters more important, like faith in a
Good God; we see the narrow way we walk,
Acted out in graceful mercy,
Not through educated talk.
