Delitescent

Today's word is "delitescent" ... Concealed; hidden; latent.

Long
Already, cold deep has appeared,
Here at the beginning of the year,
The wind is whistling hard and low,
And the delitescent moon has lost her glow.

The dark complete has overcome
What little light the snow has shunned,
Stars have dropped from sky's numb hand,
And birds quit their place in heaven's band.

A few long months 'till warmth returns,
As we, winter's bold advances spurn.
Until then we'll gather by the fire,
As we to friendship, love and peace aspire.
