Hornswoggle

Today's word is "hornswoggle" ... To swindle, cheat, hoodwink or hoax.

Trickery
For a day I thought that spring had sprung.
Turns out I was hornswoggled by a lull
in the snow and the sleet and the rain
and the wind. So sad. This land with
with no sun. There's barely any light
at all. I should be forgiven for
hoping that I'd seen the
beginning of something
beautiful.
