Jocose

Today's word is "jocose" ... Given to or characterized by joking.

Strange
Does this world seem incongruous,
As you spy a hippopotamus?
Or the gangly girraffe's long reach,
Or a platapus upon a beach?

Is it odd that birds talk and squeal,
That peacocks parade their tails unreal,
That kittens whirl and pounce in play,
And elephants each other spray?

With all this jocose creativity,
God's humor's displayed for all to see,
His happy, holy, humble mind,
Has done no less with all mankind.
