Parlous ... Freeze

Today’s word is “parlous” ... perilous; dangerous. (Dictionary.com)

Freeze
The cold gets deeper; parlous,
How did this mini-ice age come?
Makes me want to run south,
‘Til this season is all done.

Imagine sunshine every day,
And beaches warmed by tides,
Warm breezes filled with sweetness,
And palm trees whispered sighs.

Sometimes the grass is greener,
In a warmer clime,
And crossing there brings pleasure,
Even for a shortened time.
