Timeserver ... False

Today’s word is “timeserver” ... tahym-sur-ver ... a person who shapes his or her conduct to conform to the opinions of the time or of persons in power, especially for selfish ends. (Dictionary.com)

False
Over, under, around or through,
The timesaver will find a way,
To squirm and shift positions,
All ideas shades of grey.

There’s no anchor for this soul,
No circumpolar star,
Only the flow of favored tides,
To judge both near and far.

To finally find a place to stand,
Is not a goal or end,
Only staying in good graces,
Where means justify the ends.
