Glissade ... Olympics

Today’s word is “glissade” ... gli-sahd ... a skillful glide over snow or ice in descending a mountain, as on skis or a toboggan. (Dictionary.com)

Olympics
They fly over snow,
Glissade, and twirl in air,
Their talents on display,
Lite and lithe and fair.

All for fame and glory,
And a flag flown high,
Gold arranged like victory,
Hands raised to the sky.

Separated by tiny increments,
The winners take their place,
Worth all the time and effort,
(Plus a little bit of grace.)
