Hyetal ... Sigh

Today’s word is “hyetal” ... hahy-i-tl ... of or relating to rain or rainfall. (Dictionary.com)

Sigh
It’s still too early to think of spring,
Wild woods are filled with hyetal wind,
Night’s clammy hand holds buds at bay,
Ready to all warmth rescind.

We who watch with impatient eyes,
Are anxious for the verdant trees,
For flowers with optimistic hues,
And creatures from their shelters freed.

So we dream and watch the signs,
Ready for the first amen,
Sung from glade or blue bayou,
As to spring the winter bends.
