Today’s word is “ship” ... ship ... to take an interest in or hope for a romantic relationship between (fictional characters or famous people), whether or not the romance actually exists: I’m shipping for those guys — they would make a great couple! (Dictionary.com)
Cupid
To ship for those who are not real,
Seems innocent and fine,
Though all this feavered energy,
Might be a waste of time.
After all, these characters,
Bend not to our desires,
But, we in the land of fine, true love,
Are acquainted well with fire.
On Valentine’s and all the year,
Tokens of love we send,
Better for being intense and sweet,
All fictions they transcend.
