Shoal

Today's word is "shoal" ... Palace where a sea, river or other body of water is shallow.

Suited
Do you tip-toe along the shore, where the water's shallow?
Or dive right in, with a grin, daring waves to swallow?
Some think it fun to jump and run right into something scary.
Others find they'd rather hide, having feelings that are wary.

Starfish and urchins in the shoal are a special treasure,
Deeper out, the porpoise shout, with joy beyond all measure.
Perhaps sticky legs and beasts that dig are suited best for pools,
While those with speed and tricky deeds need a different set of rules.

It's curious how seriously these creatures choose their habitat,
As if they know, that to grow, they need a bit of this and that.
We could learn, as we yearn to become someone who stands out,
To match our wits to things that fit the talents we have no doubt about.
