Falderal

Today's word is "falderal" ... mere nonsense, foolish talk or ideas.

Standoff
Just a bunch of falderal; so much silly nonsense,
We fight on with tooth and claw, trying not to take offence,
Yet we choose which side to back and stand in the impass,
Sure that we're right, and that our point will be the point that lasts.

Why is it hard to care about what's in the other's heart?
Their passions are as sure as ours and just as much a part
Of emotions deep and wide, that guide each waking thought,
Each long ago decided into which belief they bought.

It takes two to tango, at least that's what they say,
If that's true, then maybe two will have to save the day,
By looking at each other with a compassion new,
We can finally sort out what is false and what is true.
