Loblolly

Today's word is "loblolly" ... A mire; mud hole.

Dirty
Into the loblolly and out again
Seems to be the way of man.
Somehow no matter how hard we try,
Things just seem to go awry.

We don't always do the things we should
And then do things that are no good,
Our acts go wrong despite our will,
And the going seems to be all uphill.

So what can change this unfortunate course,
And bring us closer to our source?
Help us to see what makes us tick,
Keeps us well or makes us sick.

Perhaps in silence we'll finally find,
How we can become more naturally kind.
And always by God to be forgiven,
As gratefully into his arms we're driven.
