Mammonism will take everything.
You think that gold is gain,
That jewels and crystal fountains,
Come with no accusing pain?
Sitting in the midst of wealth,
All you can see is more.
Like Midas surrounded,
His daughter walking through the door.
Would you trade your best loves,
Your simple times and songs,
For piles of “security”,
Where you pretend that you belong.
