Today’s word is “bel-esprit” ... a person of great wit or intellect. (Dictionary.com)
Murky
Although amazing, a bel-esprit,
Without foundation will fall,
The glib and verbose, talk into the wind,
Muted behind a recalcitrant wall.
Making up rules, grounded on sand,
Thinking storms will not overwhelm,
Ignoring the Spirit who holds them in hand,
The one who is still at the helm.
Their impossible words trample their souls,
And destroy everyone in their grip,
They’re hollow as dishonest promises given,
As into the darkness they slip.
