We are easy to deceive,
As we look for silver linings,
Ignoring fakery and bunkum,
To find where the truth is shining.
Facts that are not, may be painted,
Camouflaged like tools of war,
Made to glisten like the real thing,
Making the masses ask for more.
And in their righteous indignation,
Sure of all they’ve read and seen,
They call for swift and endless judgement,
To make life both pure and clean.
Where one idea reigns alone,
And the others are rejected,
All the people are imprisoned,
And the rule of law’s rejected.
