Standards
He prowls the house, his kingdom,
Making sure each thing’s in place,
There’s no discerning his current mood,
By looking at his face.
The food bowl is of interest,
As are special snacks,
If they look like bellywash,
He’ll just turn his back.
Once all is well in this domain,
It’s time to check outside,
There are squirrels to chase and wrangle,
And he’ll roam both far and wide.
