Carpe diem

Today’s word was done yesterday and somehow “carpe diem” was missed completely! It means “Latin. seize the day; enjoy the present, as opposed to placing all hope in the future.”

Repeat
Each day seems the same,
Beginning when we wake,
A strange familiar feeling starts,
Then the familiar ache.

That disease still lurks,
Family’s far away,
Work is in the living room,
The world has gone astray.

Carpe diem’s what they say,
Seize what joy you can,
There’s nothing else to celebrate,
Within this earthly span.

But there’s more for some of us,
A hope as real as day,
A future life of joy and peace,
Where love will come to stay.
