Hmmm
They were not expecting,
A volte-face to occur,
But even as it happened,
They protested and demurred.
Their future was imagined,
In detail, as in stone,
Now cracks amazingly appeared,
They hid their heads and moaned.
All that conniving wasted,
The energy and sweat,
They never guessed that in the end,
No expectations would be met.
