Today’s word is “serry” ... ser-ee ... Archaic. to crowd closely together. (Dictionary.com)
Float
Watching silent snow fall,
first of the season, but not the last,
Flakes serry and obey the wind,
floating one on one on one,
The green ground accepting them
like frozen gifts; a cold blanket,
covering. Protecting.
The snowflakes will stay, packed, pressed,
interlocked, until spring comes
to set them free.
