Fillip ... Cold

Today’s word is “fillip” ... fil-uhp ... anything that tends to rouse, excite, or revive; a stimulus. (Dictionary.com)

Cold
The rain is beating on the sill,
The wind is blowing where it will,
Fire burns steadily inside,
To warm us here where we abide.

What fillip would excite today,
Is if the rain would go away,
The sun would come to warm our bones,
And no longer weather we’d bemoan.
