Deep
If holy words could change the world.
Then every syllable that sighs,
Would be precious in its place,
And be released with awe and cries.
If every word could change a heart,
Then each pericope in turn,
Would warm a soul to peaceful deeds,
As truth was in its depths unspurned.
When next within your hands you hold,
Those sacred scriptures straight from God,
Feel them radiate their power,
For this place and the world abroad.
