Ablacate ... Me

Today's word is "ablactate" ... ab-LAK-teyt ... to wean (dictionary.com)

Me
This selfishness is hard to fight,
I'm before myself both day and night,
I want to ablactate myself from me,
To become more than I can see.

All this may be strange to you,
That this is what I want to choose,
To be better tomorrow than today ...
I must give parts of me away.

Some parts that make me feel alive,
But instead cause me to die inside,
God knows what it is that has to go,
(I'm hoping we can take it slow.)

And in the end, when my building blocks,
Are made new by ticks and tocks,
Redemption will be found complete,
And I with joy will be replete.
