Try
It would be nice to reach perfection,
And have no rimple, dent or crack.
To shine as brightly as the sun does,
Knowing not a speck of lack.
But in this world of ceaseless growing,
We're delt a different sort of hand,
And must work for each improvement,
'Til we can in wholeness stand.
So as we strive to become good,
And follow what dim light we see,
It would be helpful to remember,
Only in God's hand lies sanctity.
