Here in the quiet, as I read,
I can almost convince myself of this,
That the world has no startling need,
Of councelors or peaceful seeds.
But as soon as cabled heads,
Begin to speak of worldly news,
I realize that in my bed's
The only place without deep dread.
It's no wonder some are speaking,
Of the end of all things good,
From this desiderium peeking,
We are something ethereal seeking.
