Nuts
She skips along the branches,
Looking with esurient eye,
For humans with a treat,
She is not slow or shy.
She looks at our faces,
And hopefully comes near,
One paw up in question,
She’s a squirrelly pioneer.
Carefully she checks the treats,
Tucking three away,
Now they’re high up in her nest,
Saved for a rainy day.
