Today’s word is “preta” ... prey-tuh ... Hindu Mythology. a wandering or disturbed ghost.
Knock
‘Tis the spooky season,
Of pretas lurking low,
Black cats around each corner,
Jack-o-lanterns out for show.
Soon many tiny characters,
Will show up at your door,
Shouting loudly, “Trick or treat!”
For candy from the store.
Don’t give them broccoli or pears,
Apples or radicchio,
They’ll just get mad at you and throw,
Eggs at you as they go.
