Perspective
What happened to the simple things,
We remember from the past,
The roller skates and wind-up toys,
The toys we thought would last?
Waxy lips and jawbreakers,
Pixie sticks and Tootsie Rolls,
(I suppose all of that sugar,
May have made us lose control.)
The world seemed sweet and innocent,
But we were very small,
Safe and happily unaware,
Of what we’d see when we grew tall.
