Write
The proportions of letters,
the shape of their counters,
Ascenders, descenders and ampersands,
striving, curving, moving.
Put together into a myriad of words ...
they boggle and challenge us,
as if we were cruciverbalists,
hoping to bend them to our will.
And perhaps some of us do,
playrights, poets, novelists, song writers.
Creating thoughts and worlds that feel real.
As real as the ground on which we all stand,
as real as memories or dreams.
