Today's word is "degust" ... dih-GUST ...to taste or savor carefully or appreciatively. (Dictionary.com)
Blessed
Turkey, potatoes, cranberry sauce,
Vegetables and pie,
We can't wait to degust it.
(Later, we wonder why.)
It looks delicious, here before us,
We couldn't want for more,
Then come some more relatives ...
With food! Right to our door!
We'll eat 'til we are bursting,
Or want to fall asleep,
Then when the guests all want to leave ...
We'll give them food to keep!
We know it's not really about this feast,
But thanking God with grateful hearts,
For those we love and where we live,
Which is a very good place to start.
