Today's word is "tenuity" ... The state of being tenuous.
Wait
It's all shaky, this existence.
One day its all butterflies,
the next an unending pit of despair.
You would think that hanging in
on the dark days would be the
challenge. But sometimes
it's the light that blinds.
When you're in the dark,
friends come by with
casseroles and sympathy.
But in the light, when you
can't see for the blinding,
no one seems to notice.
All appears well.
You should be filled
with gratefulness, not
overwhelmed with the
senselessness of life.
In the tenuity of this state,
waiting for the other shoe
to drop, we still, for sanity,
hang onto hope.
(Otherwise, why put one
shoeless foot in front of the other?
Why keep up the pretense of
normality?)
And this hope, that God
is real, that salvation
is a true event, that our
purpose is, and waits to be
revealed, becomes enough.
