Diathesis

Today's word is "diathesis" ... A constitutional predisposition or tendency, as to a particular disease or affection.

Surrounded
Libraries of books created,
Cause something in me to be sated.
The mere feel of paper-backed,
Fills in me a certain lack ...
I can almost feel the sound,
That within these tomes abound.
And all the pictured covers pure,
Hold promise of a curious cure.

My need to know is very strong,
And I don't want to be proved wrong,
So I consult the rows of words,
Because through them I've often heard,
The ring of truth that's wrapped inside,
Syllables and thoughts that guide.
Besides, diathesis to those printed pages,
Brings visions from both saints and sages.
