Roll
Down the street they roister,
On scooters and on bikes,
Behind them fall leaves scatter,
Green and red alike.
They know that winter’s coming,
They can feel it in their bones,
But now they yell and ride fast,
Eager to be far from home.
Within their happy childhood,
The future is not dim,
Each moment is a world,
Every act a whim.
