Today’s word is “propine” ... proh-peen ... Scot. to offer as a present. Scot. a present; gift. (Dictionary.com)
Coronation
To the little baby then,
The wise ones did propine,
Honors forshadowing his life,
To parents sheltered mean.
Precious gold and frankincense,
Sorrowing, saddening myrrh,
Given for king, priest and sacrifice,
As prophecy and cure.
And humbly this king did live,
Blazing with his father’s light,
Loving, he gives himself away,
To shame the dark of night.
