Grateful
Good memories wait,
a picture album, invisible,
Ready with open pages whenever
we turn to them ...
An afterglow of happiness,
at hand when love’s comfort
seems small.
A melancholy remberance,
when all of life has changed.
And we have a hand,
though we don’t believe it,
in creating this beautiful past.
Minute by minute, we sketch
the outlines, fill in the colors,
frame the minutes.
Ready for the halls and walls
we call our lives.
