Today's word is "meliorism" ... The doctrine that the world tends to become better or may be made better by human effort.

Problems all around, I see.
What should we do? Let them be?
Certainly we've got the brains,
To make great impressive gains.
We can sort it out, I'm sure,
Change the future, find a cure,
Build up walls to stop tornadoes,
Grow organic ripe tomatoes.
Nothing is too hard for us.
There's no need to rant or fuss.
We're melioristically enthused.
We are great! We cannot lose!
