Boondoggle

Today's word is "boondoggle" ... To do work of little or no practical value merely to keep or look busy; a project funded by the federal government out of political favoritism that is of no real value to the community or the nation. (Dictionary.com)

Institute
Big things move slow,
Like governments and schools you know,
They've lots of parts to coordinate,
For services you'll have to wait.

Seemlingly they've good intentions,
Though we may have apprehensions,
That a boondoggle will ensue,
When they try to do the best for you.

It's better to think for yourself,
Than take whatever's on their shelf,
At least that way you'll know you tried,
And didn't from your intuitions shy.
