Today’s word is “putative” ... commonly regarded as such; reputed; supposed.
Surrounded
The moon and stars still glow,
The sun shines on the earth,
Flowers from long-buried bulbs,
Burst forth with joyful birth.
They cannot see our struggle,
The state that we are in,
The putative intelligence,
That lies within our skin.
They follow their instructions,
To grow and spin and sing,
To flourish and regenerate,
As beauty they all bring.
We could learn some lessons,
From these complexities,
And follow our best instincts,
With all intensity.
