Jocular ... Free

Today’s word is “jocular” ... given to, characterized by, intended for, or suited to joking or jesting. (Dictionary.com)

Free
Many years ago,
It seems joy was in the air,
Jocular and strong,
Kids lived most unaware.

Out all day ‘til dark,
Adventuring around,
Until the call was heard,
The “come to supper” sound.

Playing in the dirt and mud,
The hose a drinking fountain,
Bikes were horses; we cowboys all,
Riding up a mountain.

The days were long and happy,
No adulting on our minds,
The only rule among us,
Be to each other good and kind.
