Makers
I remember watching,
Small boys of five or six,
Assembling little animals,
From cardboard, tape and sticks.
These happy bricolages,
We’re creative beyond measure,
And were saved for years and years,
As timeless, priceless treasures.
Even now a few remain,
Reminders of the past,
Though the tape is brittle now,
The memories will last.
